VMA

The VMA is the essence of more than 10 years of experience with our top of the line model VM1, that influenced the market like only very few micropho-nes before. The VM1 is fully integrated into the VMA!

But the best is yet to come. Truly, the VMA is two microphones in one. A toggle switch is being used to select between two different operation modes. The classic VM1 mode (the sound that made Brauner famous…) and a stunning vintage sound, created after the best of the best famous old vintage tube microphones.
This is of course not dealing with simple filters! The signal path of the VMA is changed through the position of the switch and the tube as well as the capsule, get biased in a different way.

Many of the most famous American sound engineers have helped us developing the VMA. Through their severe listening and careful criticism, they actively took part in the development of the VMA. We want to say thank you to our Grammy Award winning friends, Elliot Scheiner, Al Schmitt and Chuck Ainlay and most of all, carefully listening to the VMA prototypes through all its pre production stages, we want to say thank you, to two of our oldest and strongest Brauner friends in the US, Award winning scoring engineers Malcom Luker and Steve Kempster. VMX

The VMX offers the outstanding vintage Sound of the VMA in a single microphone. It is available in two different versions called VMX and VMXlite.

The VMX offers infinitly variable pattern control and a switchable 10dB Pad, while the VMXlite offers cardioid and omni pattern, which are most commonly used. With the introduction of the VMXlite a real high end tube microphone becomes available to users with a smaller budget. With optional items the VMXlite can be upgraded to the full VMX Standard versions later if required.

A microphone to keep the spirit of the glorious old tube microphones alive, whilst complying with the high technical standards of modern high-tech microphones in the same way.
