The FC-357 Clarion blends classic and modern FET sound. It features a uniquely tuned frequency response that produces the smooth natural character found in classic FET condenser microphones with a touch of smooth modern airiness. What you get is a classic sound you will fall in love with. We paid careful attention to remove any harsh character often found in modern FET condenser microphones.

Features and accessories every recording engineer needs

The FC-357 Clarion has the features you need to achieve the sound you want. The unique three-position attenuation and gain switch offers you powerful recording options with no adverse distortion. The +10dB gain switch, which boosts the microphone's output, makes it less dependent on preamps to achieve excellent sound. Alternatively, leave the gain switch at its default, or use the -10dB pad to reduce the microphone’s output and use the gain on your preamp to get more preamp character. The -10dB pad also makes this mic great for recording very loud sound sources.

The FC-357 Clarion also has three selectable polar pattern options: omnidirectional, cardioid and figure-8. With three polar patterns you can tackle any recording technique. Each microphone also comes with a custom foam windscreen specifically designed for studio use. Whether you are trying to reduce plosives from an instruments or vocals, this custom windscreen is a valuable included accessory. Finally, the heavy-duty shock mount reduces external vibrations in any environment.

The FC-357 Clarion features our custom designed 28.25mm dual diaphragm capsule that accurately captures your source. The electronics include a low-noise FET and custom-wound output transformer that work together to provide you with an authentic and classic sound with a modern touch.

In our sound design, we have retained the fast transient response that gives the small diaphragm microphone its characteristic natural sound, while adding a full low-end more often associated with a large diaphragm condenser. With this combination, you can open new doors to small diaphragm mic sound.

The ST-221 Torch was designed to help you achieve a broad palette of sound. The high SPL handling and generous dynamic range allows you to record loud sources such as kick drums and guitar amps with no distortion. You can also experiment with room character or tight focused sounds with the interchangeable omnidirectional and cardioid capsules. Finally, our custom windscreens reduce adverse effects and protect the capsules when used on highly plosive sources.

The ST-221 Torch comes with every mounting option you need. The custom made shock mounts reduce excessive vibrations in any environment. The hard mounts are perfect for tight spaces and close micing.
